Keith Blanton, CBO, MCP is the Assistant Director and plans examiner. Please direct your inquiries to him regarding the commercial, educational and nonresidential plan review processes. He is also available to assist you in the absence of the Director. His daily activities include the conduction of all types of inspections.

Mike Roy reviews residential plans, responds to general code inquiries including zoning and sign ordinance issues. Mr. Roy’s primary activity is performing all types of inspections in the construction industry.

Dave Arnett, CBO reviews residential plans, responds to general code inquiries including commercial and residential plumbing, gas and mechanical issues, responds to city ordinance and property maintenance enforcement.

Mr. Blanton, Mr. Roy and Mr. Arnett can usually be contacted in the mornings between 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. and between 2:45 and 3:15 p.m. or you may leave a message on voice mail.

Kit Hambley is the administrative office manager of the Department of Building Safety. She can assist you in obtaining contractor’s licenses, building permits and scheduling inspections.

Cheryl Layton can assist you in obtaining contractor’s licenses and building permits. Mrs. Layton takes complaints regarding various ordinance violations.
