ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION
COMMANDER 
The Administrative Division is under the command of Lieutenant David Whitfield. Lt. Whitfield began his career in 1980 with the City of Lipscomb. In 1981, he transferred to the City of Vestavia Hills. He graduated with an Associates degree from Jefferson State and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2001. You may contact Lt. RECORDS
Records is responsible for archiving and maintaining all official police reports. The Uniform Crime Reports required by the F.B.I and the Alabama Criminal Justice System is prepared by this section. Records is supervised by Sgt. Tommy Burch.
COMMUNICATIONS
Communications is under the joint direction of the Vestavia Hills Police and Fire Departments. Communications is responsible for routing all emergency and service calls for the City of Vestavia Hills. Dispatchers provide computer searches for wanted fugitives and stolen property. They retrieve information from the National Crime Information Center and the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center. They also enter missing and wanted persons, stolen property, and bulletins into these systems. Communications is supervised by John Hairston (left). WARRANTS
Warrants issued by the Vestavia Hills Municipal Court are assigned to the Administrative Sergeant (Sgt. Burch). Sgt. Burch is responsible for notifying individuals wanted by the court, investigating the whereabouts of individuals with outstanding charges as well as serving the arrest warrants.
