The City of Vestavia Hills offers a free transportation program for the City's Senior Citizens. The program is limited in scope, but still may be helpful if you need assistance with transportation to appointments, shopping, bank visits, etc. City vehicles are used in this transportation program. The drivers are all volunteers, many from the Vestavia Hills Senior Citizens Association. For further information about this program, please call Melissa Hipp at the City Hall.  The city is divided in two service areas:

• Within the original City boundaries
• Cahaba Heights and Liberty Park

Paratransit (VIP) Service

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), MAX VIP offers services to individuals who, because of a disability (physical, cognitive or visual) cannot access an accessible fixed route bus. VIP service is a curb to curb shared rider service. VIP vehicles are equipped with lifts and wheelchair accommodations.  Passengers are encouraged to use accessible MAX fixed routes for non-emergency trips when possible. Certified VIP users and their personal care attendant may ride fixed routes FREE.

To use MAX VIP service you must complete an application form, which is available by download from the Transit Authority's website, or by calling 205-521-0161. (Please allow approximately two to three weeks to process). VIP applications are also available in large print and Braille upon request.

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday   5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Saturday  - 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
