Ms.
Mary Lee Rice currently serves as City
Council President Pro Tempore, chairs
the Annexation Committee, serves as a member of the Financial
Advisory Committee, and is council liaison to the Library
Board. Mary Lee and her husband, Pete Yonce, have one child,
Nathaniel. Nat attends Vestavia Hills High School.
Mary
Lee has twenty-six years of experience in public finance
and has served on the mayors Financial Advisory Committee
since 2000 and was the citys Interim Director of Finance
in the summer of 2003. She has been a member of the mayors
Human Resources and Risk Management Committee and is a member
of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce and a board member
of the Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation.
Ms.
Rice has also served the community-at-large as Board Chair
of the Literacy Council of Central Alabama, Board Chair
of Glenwood, Inc., Executive Board Member of Birmingham
Healthcare for the Homeless, Treasurer of the Alabama Zoological
Society, and President of the UAB Faculty/Staff Benevolent
Fund. Ms. Rice currently serves as Treasurer of the Music
Opportunity Program Foundation and is on the Endowment Committee
of the Literacy Council.
