Mr.
Jim Sharp and his wife, Jane, have two children, Jodie and
Thomas McDowell. Both attended Vestavia Hills schools. Jodie
presently attends Wheaton University and Thomas attends Birmingham
Southern College.
Jim
has lived in Vestavia Hills since 1951. Both Jim and his wife
grew up in Vestavia Hills. Jane is a teacher in the Vestavia
Hills school system and Jim is the owner of Sharp Cleaners
in Vestavia Hills.
Jim
served 8 years on the Board of Directors of the Business Association.
He was a member of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors for 3 years. As a member of the Chamber,
Jim has served as Chairman of I Love America Day and the annual
Christmas Parade. He is President of the Avenue of Flags Foundation
and a sponsor of the Vestavia Hills High School Band. He is
a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. As a member of
the City Council, Jim serves as the liaison to the Park and
Recreation Board and the Chamber Business Development Committee.
