Bill and Debbie have been married 14 years. They have two children attending Vestavia Hills Schools. Bill has lived in Vestavia Hills for 32 years and is a 1977 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School.

Bill was elected in 2000 and served as the President Pro Tempore of the City Council. During that term, he was the Council Liaison and member of the Mayor’s Finance Committee where he worked with Mayor McCallum to negotiate the City’s development agreements with AIG Baker for the Vestavia Mall Revitalization.

Bill also served as a member of the City’s Risk Management and Employee Benefits Committee. The Mayor appointed Visintainer Chair of the initial Cahaba Heights Annexation Task Force and a member of the joint City/School Board Cahaba Heights Annexation Committee.

In November of 2006, Bill was appointed to fill the unexpired Council Term of Greg Canfield who was elected to the State House of Representatives. He also serves on the Mayor’s Finance Committee, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Patchwork Farm Development Study.

Bill has served on the Board of Directors for the City’s School Foundation and with his wife Debbie, actively support the Schools in Vestavia.
