The Municipal Code of the City of Vestavia Hills has now been updated and published by the Municipal Code Corporation of Tallahassee, Florida. This update was completed in 2002 and covers Ordinances adopted in the period April 18, 1951 - June 3, 2002.

On November 4, 2002, the Vestavia Hills City Council passed Resolution 1952 that adopts this updated version as published by the Municipal Code Corporation as the Municipal Code for the City of Vestavia Hills.The Municipal Code will be updated on a continuing basis.

The Vestavia Hills Municipal Code and its Ordinances has been posted in a searchable database on the Municipal Code Corporation's server. Anyone has access to this database which is searchable.

Generally, the order of the table of contents begins with a list of main categories (General Provisions, Administration, Alcoholic Beverages, Buildings and Building Regulations, Environment, etc). If a category is expanded, its subcategories are listed. Each subcategory can be expanded to list a further set of sub-subcategories. A main category can be expanded as far as ten subcategories, depending on the code and how its heirarchy is structured.
