Payment
may be made by mail using a money order or a cashier's check
made payable to the City of Vestavia Hills. Payment should
be sent to the address given below.
Do not mail personal checks or cash.
Alternatively, payment may be made in person
at the Court Magistrate's office. (Use main entrance of
City Hall, then turn to your right). Cash, cashiers’
checks and money orders are accepted. Personal
checks, company checks, credit cards or debit cards will
not be accepted. A drop-box is
available for payments made in person after hours. Use the
front Police Department entrance. The drop-box is located
in the lobby. AGAIN, NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
The
final option is to pay using a VISA or MASTER Credit
Card after you access ALAPAY. This can be done over
the internet or by calling a toll free number. Please, follow

if you want to use the internet. To accomplish the same
thing over the phone, please call this toll free number:
1-877-252-7294. Please,
note that a four percent convenience fee will be charged
to your credit card
for using this service.
Please,
understand that the Magistrate's Office
does not accept any credit or debit cards, nor personal
checks. If you want to pay by Visa or Master Card it must
be through ALAPAY by eiter using the web site or the toll
free telephone number given above.
PAYMENT IN FULL MUST BE RECEIVED BY COURT
DATE, OR YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE WILL BE SUSPENDED AND A WARRANT
ISSUED FOR YOUR ARREST.
The
Court is located in the Vestavia Hills Municipal Complex
at 513 Montgomery Highway (situated on Highway 31 between
Fire station Number 1 and Regions Bank. The Municipal Complex
is two blocks north of the Publix Supermarket, on the opposite
side of Highway 31). Use the main entrance to City Hall.
Court is held in the City Council Chambers, straight ahead
as you enter the lobby.

You
must appear in court after the following citations
are issued:
- Driving
while your drivers License is suspended, revoked
or cancelled

Driving while under the influence of alcohol or
drugs
- Reckless
driving

School Option
|
If
this is the first ticket you have received
in your lifetime, anywhere, you are eligible
to come to court on your court date and request driving
school and community service from the Judge. You will
be given complete instructions and details in court.
No money is required that evening. DO NOT PAY
TICKET IF YOU WISH TO HAVE DRIVING SCHOOL OPTION.

Insurance
Citations
|
If
you have insurance, but proof was not in the vehicle
at the time the citation was given, the case will
be dismissed if you show proof of insurance to the
Court Magistrate and pay $55.00 in Court Costs by
your court date. Otherwise, the following fines will
apply:
- $113.00
if you purchase insurance after you receive the
citation.
- $213.00
if you do not have insurance by your court date.
