A Message From The Director

Vestavia Hills Parks and Recreation has a number of important dates for you to remember. We are excited about all of the events and programs that will be ongoing throughout the upcoming spring season. Please refer to our brochure for all of our ongoing and future events.

  • Youth Softball: Registration is January 2-24. Open to all girls ages 5-18 (age as of 1-1-08). Please check www.vestaviagirlssoftball.com for more information. This is a good source for you to find registration forms, team pictures, schedules and standings, rules, field condition updates and alerts, sponsors, list of board members and much more.
  • Youth Baseball: In person registration will be January 19th and 26th from 12pm - 4pm at the Rec. Center. Last year’s convenience fee for paying by credit card is now built into the registration fee; however there is an additional $5 fee for anyone paying with a check.
  • Youth Soccer: Registration is January 11 - February 8. Go to www.vestaviasoccer.com for more information regarding registration, scheduling, rules, staff sponsors, and much more.
  • Youth Lacrosse: For information regarding Lacrosse, please email Eric Christianson (epc19@charter.net) for boys; or Tom Kraus (tjkraus@yahoo.com) for girls. You can also visit www.vestavialacrosse.com for information.

Just in case you haven't heard, we have an electronic system to let you know about field closures. In addition to our rain out phone number at 978-0220, we now are asking everyone to go http://www.statusme.com/ and sign up to receive updates as we make them. You can choose to receive e-mail or text messaging, or both if you prefer. You can also make it specific to your field or for all the complexes across the city. We hope this will make it more convenient for you and more efficient for us.

Please continue to check this site for updates and specific information. Also, please call us if you have any suggestions. We will leave you with a quote from Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, "Recreation programs strengthen the fabric of our neighborhoods. They contribute to healthier, safer communities"

Recreationally speaking,

Brian C. Davis
