Unified
Crime Reports - City of Vestavia Hills
|
All
subsequent information is taken from the the Uniform Crime
Reporting (UCR) data published by the Alabama Criminal
Justice Information Center. The latest reported information
is for calendar year 2004. Crime Index is defined as the
sum of Violent Index Offenses and Property Index Offenses.
"UCR
data deals with criminal activity in a specific geographical
area rather than with law enforcement agencies' activities;
therefore it should not be used to evaluate or compare
one agency with another. UCR is only one aspect of the
activities and responsibilities of the law enforcement
community."
The
above quote is part of an introductory message from the
Center's Director, Maury Mitchell.
